Aishwarya Was First Choice of "Bombay"

Readers won’t believe it but at one point of time, Manisha Koirala had been a rival of our fab Bachchan bahu.

Then a delicate porcelain beauty with the freshness of the mountains in her demeanor, Manisha had been feted by the magazines and media alike as the next big thing of B-Town.

These two gorgeous women used to try their best to outdo each other in order to become numero uno.

But recently Aishwarya has confirmed repots that she had been approached by movie moghul Mani Ratnam to play the lead in his gritty take on the 1993 Mumbai blasts,Bombay.

“Mani sir had indeed requested Rajeev Menon to ask me for dates,” trilled the luscious lovely. The reason for not accepting such.

A plum casting miracle? She had been busy preparing for the 1994 Miss India pageant.

Aishwarya Rai jumping from shoot to shoot

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is certainly keeping busy shooting for her two newest films, Endhiran with Rajni and Mani Ratnam’s Ravana. In fact, she is having to jump from one shooting schedule directly into the next.

Right now she is in the forests of Kerala shooting with Abhishek for Ravana but starting the 18th she will be rushing off to Chennai to shoot scenes for Endhiran . A source said, “Presently the shooting of Rajni starrer mega budget film, Endhiran is going on but the portions that are being shot don’t require Aish. But from 18th December onwards some really important sequences of Endhiran are going to be shot in and around Chennai. Aish will be present with the Endhiran unit till month end post which there will again be a break for a few weeks.”

Abhishek will be going back Mumbai after the Ravana schedule and once Aishwarya is done with Endhiran seems the two will go on a much need

Shooting with Abhishek makes this Ad all the more special as it's our first commercial together and we had a great time shooting for it."

Commenting on the occasion, Abhishek Bachchan said, "We are happy and proud of the fact that we have done our first ever commercial for Lux. When we decided to do something for the first time together, it had to be special and stand for all the things that we believed in. The script drew me to the commercial and I liked the way Ash and my parts were incorporated - mischievous, soft and fun which brought out the vibes in the relationship that we share."

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sudhanshu Vats, VP, Home Care & Skin Cleansing, HUL said, "Lux relaunch promises to give the consumers a never before luxurious bathing experience through a creamier lather leaving their skin soft and smooth. We have made improvements to every element of the mix - product, packaging and fragrance. Significant investment has gone into the product which contains 'fragranced beauty oils'. All of this is being communicated to the consumers through a unique yet distinctly Lux campaign where we have Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan coming together for the very first time in an advertisement. The advertisement has been beautifully shot and composed to an enduring musical score by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy."

The new Lux AD has been directed by Stephen Mead from the London-based ad film production house Short Films. The Sufi inspired music score has been composed by none other than the melodic trio Shankar Ehsaan Loy. The couple has been styled by leading fashion designer Aki Narula with make-up done by Mickey Contractor.
