Motörhead New York City takeover 2011

This past Monday we had the chance to catch the legendary Heavy Metal band Motörhead live and loud at New York City's Best Buy Theater in Times Square. As we all know not only is Motörhead one of the most influential Heavy Metal bands of all time, but lets not forget that their singer/song writer/bassist/badass Lemmy Kilmister is GOD! Or as Oderus from Gwar puts it: "the Metallic Pope"!

After over 35 years of extreme hard work, drinking, partying and taking all over the world, some may think that the band might be getting old and that they are becoming irrelevant. Rest assured that when it comes to Motörhead this equation does not apply, specially not after the release of their new album titled "The World Is Yours". The band sounds fresh, tight as hell, and just like with fine Whiskey: the more they age, the better they get.

From the moment they stepped on stage and faced the 2100 fans who sold it out the show, the entire room went absolutely insane! In the many years we have been attending concerts, we have never seen a crowd throw so many Horns UP as they did whenever Lemmy interacted with the furious crowd! The band played classics such as "Ace Of Spades" and "Overkill", and were joined by the beautifully talented Doro Pesch when they performed "Killed By Death". Additionally, drummer Mikkey Dee and guitarist Phil Campbell played very impressive solos!

If there is a man that should have a statue in London's Trafalgar Square, its Lemmy Kilmister! And if Motörhead does not get inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame, we will personally start a riot! \m/

Motörhead: The World Is Yours

For over thirty-five years Ian Fraser Kilmister (A.K.A. Lemmy Kilmister) has been changing the face of Heavy Metal and has been making it a lot more fun. After a quick stint with Hawkwind, Lemmy realized that he was ready to form his own band and become the emblem of such band. In 1975, Lemmy formed Motörhead and immediately started making his presence be felt by helping to launch the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal"!

In the early 80's Motörhead had several singles in the UK Top 40 chart. Their albums "Overkill", "Bomber", "Ace of Spades", and "No Sleep 'til Hammersmith", engraved Motörhead as one of the most important Heavy Metal bands to ever come from the UK. To this day, you hear Motörhead's music on movies, TV shows, and covered by bands all over the world. As we all know, Lemmy is one of the most influential Heavy Metal icons of all time, and whoever said that Lemmy is God, is absolutely right.

Their 21st studio album "The World Is Yours", is one of the best albums in the long killer history of the Motörhead franchise. The first track “Born to Lose", which is Lemmy’s slogan (he has it tattooed on his right arm) kicks off the album with furious power. Then, one song after the other the Motörhead train gets loaded on Jack and Coke without losing focus and keeping their batteries charged.

As you can see their single “Get Back in Line" is another Motörhead anthem and the video is killer. Another track that stands out is “Brotherhood of Man”, which has been labeled as the second part of their classic song “Orgasmatron”. While the song is similar in structure, it is Lemmy’s anti-political and anti-establishment lyrics mixed with the heaviest riff in Motörhead’s kick ass history that makes the song have that "Orgasmatron" vibe.

Their song “Outlaw" feels like the lost song from their legendary album "Ace of Spades". The western lyrics and fast frenzied riffing makes for a trip on a Harley down memory lane to a bar where they service JD and Coke all night long, and everyone is waiting for Motörhead to come on stage.

"The World Is Yours" is an amazing album and every member of the human race should own it. Lemmy may be 65, but has proven to have plenty of stamina left! One week from today Motörhead will be performing on the Jimmy Fallon show, following their performance at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square! Be there!

Brought to you by Dr. Doom! \m/

Legendary Heavy Metal band Motörhead took over the "Conan" show this past Wednesday, and as usual brought with them the swag that sets them apart from every other band. When you have Lemmy Kilmister on stage, nobody is safe, so why did CBS decide to book Lemmy and company? Well, Conan has always been a big supporter of Heavy Music, and he is definitely not known for playing it safe.

Before you watch the video of Motörhead on "Conan", here are some facts about Motörfuckinghead:

- Lemmy is the only original member, and has always lead the "power trio"

- Motörhead is considered one of the pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which surfaced in the late 1970s/early 1980s.

- In the early 1980s the band became well known after having several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart.

DIMEBASH 2010

This past Friday, the first version of Dimebash 2010 took place at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. The event was organized as a tribute to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (Pantera and Damageplan), who was shot and killed on December 8, 2004 at the Alrosa Village in Columbus Ohio. The event was also a fund raiser for the "Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund". Additionally, the concert was shot for a future DVD release and proceeds from the sales will also go towards the fund.

The event featured some of the top Hard Rock musicians in the world, here is the partial list:

Lemmy Kilmister (MOTÖRHEAD)
Dave Grohl (FOO FIGHTERS)
Joey Jordison (SLIPKNOT & ROB ZOMBIE)
Jerry Cantrell and Mike Inez (Alice In Chains)
Simon Wright (DIO)
Brent Smith, Zach Myers and Eric Bass (SHINEDOWN)
Kerry King and Dave Lombardo (SLAYER)
Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel (MACHINE HEAD)
Chuck Billy (TESTAMENT)
Maria Brink and Chris Howorth (IN THIS MOMENT)
Joey Vera (ARMORED SAINT)
Tony Campos (STATIC-X)
Gerry Nestler (PHILM)
John Boecklin (DEVILDRIVER)

This "All Stars" performed songs by PANTERA, BLACK SABBATH, and MOTÖRHEAD

Additionally, the sold-out event was hosted by Jose Mangin from Sirius XM, Headbangers Ball and Latination. Jose has hosted several Dimebag events, including the "Ride for Dime". Mangin also jammed with Chuck Billy (Testament), Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Joey Jordison (Slipknot & Rob Zombie) and Tony Campos (Static X & Asesino). During their cover of Mouth For War, he cut his head open with Phil Demmel's Dean headstock. Chuck Billy later baptized Jose's gash as the "Dimegash".
