Motörhead on Conan!

Legendary Heavy Metal band Motörhead took over the "Conan" show this past Wednesday, and as usual brought with them the swag that sets them apart from every other band. When you have Lemmy Kilmister on stage, nobody is safe, so why did CBS decide to book Lemmy and company? Well, Conan has always been a big supporter of Heavy Music, and he is definitely not known for playing it safe.

Before you watch the video of Motörhead on "Conan", here are some facts about Motörfuckinghead:

- The band was formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister. Yeah, that's Lemmy's real name.

- Lemmy is the only original member, and has always lead the "power trio"

- Motörhead is considered one of the pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which surfaced in the late 1970s/early 1980s.

- In the early 1980s the band became well known after having several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart.

- Their albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and No Sleep 'til Hammersmith, gave Motörhead the reputation of being of Britain's most kick ass rock bands in history.

- Lemmy is GOD!

Without further due, here is the video of the mighty Motörhead on "Conan":

CONAN the Barbarian of TV

After almost 10 months of being away from national television, Conan O'Brien will be back on air tonight at 11 Eastern/10 Central on TBS! Conan was forced to leave NBC's "The Tonight Show" in January, after the network decided to help Jay Leno's poor ratings by giving him a better time slot. This meant pushing Conan O'Brien's "The Tonight Show" to midnight. Conan disagreed with NBC's decision and made the following statement at the time:

"I sincerely believe that delaying The Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t The Tonight Show."

This bold move by Conan has proven to be very successful thus far. After leaving national television temporarily, and being asked to not be on any television show for a few months. O'Brien decided to use social networking to his advantage and started a Twitter account, in which he gained 300,000 followers in just 24 hours. He also started a site called Team Coco, which became an instant internet hit. And "The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour" starring O'Brien was virtually sold out all across the nation.

Starting tonight he will either become the King of late night TV, or a villain who quit the most important Television in broadcasting history because he refused to sell out and kiss ass to the status quo. But what does this have to do with Heavy Music? Well, Conan is the man that made Heavy Music cool on national TV, by bringing in acts like Lamb Of God, Slipknot and the Deftones, when nobody else dared!
