Friends,
Please stop replying to these kind of post. Since these kind of post word illegal, marijuana and others, when somebody googles words related to that the IV page will get listed and first glance makes a bad reputation of IV. I would request the admin to take the thread off the site.

You can sue this guy successfully there is no doubt, but you should have guts to do.
Most people just have guts to rant here. They won't take flowers to USCIS office or even put some feedback comments on CNN website. Sad but true.

Gaz,
Totally agree with you. We always think and hope grass is greener on the other side and in this case we may not realize now difficult it might be for these kids to have a normal life.
In our case by which I mean the EB community we have our own issues which for us would see the most important and of the highest priority. I am also in the same boat and think about it day in and day out. I just think about it and my actions to improve the situation have been insignificant. Hats off to you all for trying to improve the situation and contribute in changing the system.

I know before you start blaming me for this thread, as it is of no use, I would like to point out that most of you must be experiencing the same thing. I didn't care much for Visa bulletin until it became current for EB2 two weeks back. As the time progress, I am doing all sorts of things, like checking USCIS case status, and checking everything that can possibly give me some information. I know that it is waste of time, I know it is not good for health, I know that I will get GC when time comes, but still, my mind is tricking me to think about it. I checked all these forums until 2A.M last night. I am not having enough sleep. I am waiting for a opportunity to get rid of my desi employer. I am really getting frustrated (I am not saying that I have been waiting for GC approval desperately). I just want to share my frustration and what I have been going through. I know I am in a better position than most of other people whose priority date is not even current. I wish they never dangled a carrot in front of me. I am not sure if they disappoint me next month, but I am still keeping my hopes. Hopefully, I would get over this and have enough sleep from today.
Do this: Be happy with what you already have and expect (dont worry) more good things in life. Just compare with somebody who doesn't even have food, clothes, shelter, health care, etc... in their lives.
You are VERY fortunate to make it to US and living a decent life than most of the Indians.
Cheer up....

The photos I got from CVS was not bright enough. So the guy brightened the photos for me. Now the photos look a little touched up ...
What are considered bad photos?
Anything that get's you a RFE is bad..
I got it from CVS and they look good.

I would follow the advise of your immigration attorney on this one. Sometimes they ask for pay stubs, sometimes they do not. So I would follow what your attorney advises on you. Normally USCIS will not ask for W2's. However an embassy will, when you go for stamping. They will ask for W2 and your tax returns to verify if you got paid whatever is written on your application as your salary.
thanks Harsh...
I will not leave the country and go face-to-face of all the places on the earth to the Madras embassy..!!
Hopefully meanwhile, as always being hopeful my husbands EAD journey should reach and will switch on to that...

Dear Mr. Nilekani:
As members of the Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on Immigration, Border Security and Refugees, we have a responsibility to oversee and evaluate our country's visa policies. We have been concerned about reported fraud and abuse of the H-1B and L visa programs, and their impact on American workers. We are also concerned that the program is not being used as Congress intended.
While some Members of Congress have focused on increasing the annual cap of the H-1B program, we believe it is important to understand how H-1B visas are being used by companies in the United States. We have received helpful data from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service with regard to H-1B visa approvals in 2006 for the top 200 participating companies. Your company was one of the top companies on the list. Therefore, we are requesting your cooperation in providing additional statistics and information on your use of H-1B visa workers.
First, some groups, such as the Programmers Guild, have analyzed the wages paid to H-1B visa holders. They have found that the average annual salary of foreign workers is significantly lower than that of new U.S. graduates.
Second, a number of consulting firms reportedly recruit foreign workers and then outsource the individuals to other job sites or companies. Many of the top 20 companies that used H-1B visas in 2006 are firms, such as yours, that specialize in offshore outsourcing.
Third, a number of firms have allegedly laid off American workers while continuing to employ H-1B visa holders. The American people are concerned about such lay offs at a time when the demand for visa issuances and the recruitment of foreign workers appear to be increasing.
Because of these concerns, we seek your cooperation in answering the following questions:
NUMBERS
How many United States citizens do you employ in the United States?
Is your company an H-1B dependent employer?
How many visa petitions did you submit to the Citizenship and Immigration Service for Fiscal Year 2007?
Of the total number of petitions requested, how many have been approved for Fiscal Year 2007, if known?
How many H-1B visa holders is your company currently employing? What percentage of your total workforce are H-1B visa holders?
What is the average age of the H-1B visa holders that your company currently employs?
What is the average number of years of experience of your employed H-1B visa holders?
Please describe your efforts to recruit Americans for the positions for which you employ H-1B workers.
WAGES
What is the average wage of your company's H-1B visa holders? What is the median wage? What is the highest and the lowest salaries for those H-1B visa holders currently employed by your company?
What is the average wage of your company's workers who are United States citizens in the same occupations?
OUTSOURCING
Of the 4,908 visas your company received in 2006, how many of those workers are currently employed and paid by Infosys Technologies Limited?
Of the 4,908 visas your company received in 2006, how many were outsourced to other companies and how many employees' salaries were paid for by a firm other than Infosys Technologies Limited?
LAY OFFS
Has your company experienced any layoffs in the United States in the past year? Any lay offs in 2005? If so, how many people lost their jobs?
If your company has laid off workers in the United States, what job positions were part of that lay off?
If your company has laid off workers in the United States, how many of those workers were H-1B visa holders?
If your company has laid off workers in the United States, did any H-1B visa holders replace those dislocated workers, or take over any of the laid off employee's job responsibilities?
We appreciate your cooperation, and respectfully request that you respond to our questions no later than May 29, 2007.
Sincerely,
Charles E. Grassley

Venky08,
I was about to hit bed. Reading your translation...i lost my sleep..:):):):).!!!!! Reminds me of translations made in hindi movies which comes with funny sub titles..!!!!
reminds me of a popular hindi maxim:
"Shadi aisa laddoo hai jo khaye wo pacchataaye, jo na khaye wo bhi pacchataaye"
loosely translated in english it means
Marriage is a desert which if somebody eats it, he will repent and if somebody does not eat it, will repent too...
(thank god my 5th grade english teacher is no more in this world to see this day...he must be rolling in his grave seeing my poor english translation skills:D)

Yes. Everyone please contact your state chapters. IV is running a massive effort and we need all the help we can.
Members from NY/NJ/CT, please join the yahoo group. Murli and others are leading a strong campain. We need more support.
Always check with your state chapters.
State chapter leaders are more aware of our work than what we post on the forum for public.
There is lot of activity going on at this time. Everyone must join their state chapters to actively participate in IV effort.
There maybe some more news today. Hopefully... Stay tuned.

this is absurd, why would wire transferring money have immigration officer visit the candidate, if they dont want to give us GCs then most people will continue to transfer money.
