Killcode: The Future of New York Hard Rock
When it comes to the present and the future of the New York underground Hard Rock music scene, there are a handful of bands that are helping to rebuild the scene by keeping the music fresh and fun. One band that has been making a strong impact within the scene is Killcode, a band that keeps getting better and better thanks to their hard work, dedication and passion. Killcode is the type of band that creates music that transmits better on stage then on record, as a result most people fully comprehend the bands message once they experience their live show.
In just 2 years, Killcode has quickly established themselves as one of the best Hard Rock bands within the tri-state area. You may not know this, but all of Killcode's band members have years of musical experience and were all in touring bands prior to Killcode. So how did Killcode come to life?
The whole Killcode movement started when singer Tom Morrisey and guitarist Chas Banellis started putting some ideas on tape, impressed by the vibe and energy of the songs, they decided to form a band. This is when they recruited bassist Erric Bonesmith and drummer Rob Noxious. After a few rehearsals, guitarist Pat Harrington came through the door and asked the guys if he could jam with them. Next thing you know Chas and Pat were creating guitar sounds that blended perfectly with the bands sonic perfection, and Killcode was ready to rock hard.
In early 2009, Killcode released their debut EP titled "To Die For", and immediately started making noise all over the city that never stops rocking. Within the last year Killcode performed at various venues in the tri-state area and have opened a lot of eyes. As a result, the band will be performing in the Middle East this April thanks to the Armed Forces Entertainment program.
At the moment the band is very busy in the studio fine tuning their full length record, which will be released later this year. Here at Horns Up Rocks we have experienced Killcode's live show many times, and we have no doubt that this guys are on the right path towards musical perfection. Here is a video interview special that will make you understand why we believe that Killcode is the present and the future of New York Hard Rock! \m/
