I'd kill if the next iPhone could do LTE. The Thunderbolt is great @ speeds, the battery problem is remedied by the extended battery. The bigger problem (for me) is the Android OS. After using Apple's OS, Android looks like a big freakin' mess.

Or Apple realized most people don't need a backlit keyboard? I honestly don't see a need for one, and I'm guessing most users don't need it. So it was probably a easy option to axe for either space or battery life. Don't expect it to return.
I don't know, it's been on all aluminum models since 2003. After all these years Apple decided no one really wanted it? (A lot of people on these forums obviously wouldn't agree with that).
To save battery life? You can turn it off if you want. Problem solved.

good job everyone, including plutonius and appleguy
now it is basically one spanking new 6-villagers game, starting tonight, with one wolf, one seer and likely one hunter.
with a twist: both the seer and the hunter could also be the wolf.
everyone is suspect.
make it a short night guys, see you all tomorrowUmmm, I'm not sure this game is over yet... there's still an infected Villager out there...

27" can power two additional displays:
"You can daisy-chain as many as six devices plus a display. The 27-inch iMac includes a second Thunderbolt port for even more expansion possibilities. Connect up to six more devices or a display or two."
Found under Thunderbolt portion of the Performance page (http://www.apple.com/imac/performance.html).
Specs page says "Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to a 30-inch display (2560 by 1600 pixels) on an external display. Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes," although that is combined on the page for both sizes.

How can it be TFT and IPS?!! That makes no sense quite honestly... Pish Posh...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TFT_LCD
IPS is a type of TFT screen. Just like TN (what you're thinking of) is a type of TFT screen.

Does anybody else see the 9.6 inside the apple?
Sept. 6th?
Whatever it means, it's interesting.
After you point it out, yes, I do, but I can't imagine that Apple would give ANY clues to future release dates/announcements.

So many Mac users are completely ignorant and oblivious to the fact that their Mac is, contrary to popular belief, not that secure in some respects. Many Mac zealots and apologists will tout how bullet-proof OS X is, how it's nothing like Windows, how it's amazingly secure - well, it isn't in some cases.
Yep, Artie MacStrawman (http://www.crazyapplerumors.com/?p=664), I hate that guy.
Apple's response is, I think, much more important than the MOKB finding a handful of vulnerabilities in OSX, if they address the problem quickly and respond accordingly with a good Security Update, than I think we can still be relatively assured that OSX is safe. We'll also have to see how quickly various black-hats respond to Vista.

First we are seeing pro solutions, then we'll see TB adapters for USB3 pop up... then as TB fitted computers reach a large enough number (this fall?), we'll see manufacturers adding support to ext enclosures and drives.

Are people firing up their lawyers because Apple does not update their iPhone 3G that came with iOS 3 when they bought it in june 2010 ? Doesn't the licence flyer in the box say Apple will supply the current iOS version +1 ?
I'm not sure what it says exactly, but it will most likely be worded along the lines of "the next major iOS release after the initial launch date of the device."

To be honest, I kind of have everything I want. (mainly my Mac and phone). I think for Christmas I would like a few hundred bucks (just incase I wanted to buy something) and certainly a new watch, which I might end up buying myself before then.
LOL same here; Finally got a mac after begging my parents for 3+ years.... ended up buying it myself :). And I have my Blackberry; so there's actually nothing I want this christmas. And if I did end up wanting anything I'd buy it myself sooo.... nope there's nothing

OMG....I would NEVER take information as fact from an "ATT customer service agent". I have received so much wrong info or even been dare I say lied to, I would never trust what a random ATT rep said.
Not to mention, the service reps are so far down the chain of command, they would not have info on when the next iphone is being released.
Not only that, most of them aren't even actual ATT employees.
I still say the update is moving to Jan.

The main reason I bought the current MBA in January was for the C2D/Nvidia combo and I love it. It handles everything I throw at it including gaming on the LAN with my son. My fear is that the next MBAs will be graphically crippled compared to the current models. But time will tell. :)
Also, my current MBA runs silent and cool. Seeing all the current heat issues with MBs and MBPs running Sandy Bridge it will be interesting to see how cool or silent the SB MBAs run.

I don't see that at all. What I see is "number 9, number 9, number 9." Of course if I put on a pair of anaglyph 3D glasses I also see "the Walrus was Paul." Ha. Ha.

Better mathematical notation input
The exact opposite is why I shelled out the £35 for iWork, it can have the best mathematical notation support (far superiour to Word* and better than OpenOffice)
If you download LaTeXiT (http://ktd.club.fr/programmation/latexit_en.php) and have LaTeX installed on your system (see this post (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=2247154#post2247154) for how to install LaTeX) you can set up a shortcut in the preferences of LaTeXiT (say Command - /) so that you can automatically create an equation from LaTeX written in Pages (using the Services menu), because Pages is a Cocoa App.
*If you shell out $100 for MathType, Word is probably better than with just Equation Editor, I have never used it though.
EDIT 2:Reading this thread is great, I don't feel like the only person in the world to like Pages, I'm looking forward for an excuse to give Keynote a go as well.

BGR seems to be getting pretty good at this. I wonder how they made such an accurate connection inside Apple....
Maybe BGR was able to 'buy-off' someone within Apple.
