The Kardashian and Jenner Clans Go Brady Bunch
Though her seductive lips and voluptuous body are adored by the paparazzi, Kim Kardashian has surprisingly never starred in a reality show. Her sister Kourtney did E!'s Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive and stepbro Brody Jenner made up for failing to entertain us in The Princes of Malibu by getting himself a regular spot on The Hills.
But the time has come for Kim to get her piece of the reality pie. "It’s basically a reality version of The Brady Bunch," she tells me of a new show in the works that follows the lives of her nine siblings. (Mother Kris Jenner had four kids with O.J. attorney Robert Kardashian before marrying gold medalist Bruce Jenner, who had four offspring of his own. Then the newlyweds had two children together.)
Though Kim can't disclose which network will carry the show, she promises hilarity. "We're all so different," she tells me outside of Mood. "[Her sister] Khloe’s, like, hysterical and says these ridiculous things. Kourtney is such a bitch. I’m in between. Brody’s so wild. The two little ones are adorable...It’s just such a good mix."
But the show isn't the reason Kim strapped on a red dress tonight for the cameras at Myspace.com's Inspi(Red) Event. She's using her celebrity to help spread the word about women and children living with AIDS in Africa. Kim learned the importance of AIDS awareness as a teenager when a girl in her high school was diagnosed with the disease. The girl's boyfriend broke up with her; her friends and family disowned her; she started taking medication, and then six months later, she found out her records had been mixed up with someone else's. "I think information is really powerful," says Kim. "I think that if you just know information, you can either fix it or prevent it."
